A New Brunswick Family Foundation

The MacMurray Foundation, since its inception, has focused primarily on contributing its funds to small organizations that have organized worthwhile projects that benefit a wide range of people.

In the past, the Board of Directors particularly has focused on contributions to organizations whose roots are with the family and youth development. Funds have been disbursed to such organizations as the South End Day Care, the Saint John Boys and Girls Club and Vibrant Communities Saint John.

The Board also tries to support at least one major community project, typically over a 3-5 year period. Capital building programs, such as the YMCA’s of Moncton, Fredericton and Saint John in New Brunswick have all benefitted in this regard. The Saint John, Regional Hospital Foundation, Loch Lomond Villa Senior Citizen complex, and the New Brunswick Youth Orchestra have also been beneficiaries in their major fund raising campaigns.

Since the Foundation has limited funds to disburse each year, it has been the Board’s objective to achieve a balance in distributing its funds in the broadest sense to the arts, education and health care.
